Introdução
A síndrome do seio cavernoso com oftalmoplegia dolorosa é uma doença rara que afeta de 1 a 2 indivíduos por milhão anualmente e requer uma investigação minuciosa, considerando as múltiplas opções diagnósticas alternativas que podem impactar o desfecho clínico do paciente. Quando a etiologia é idiopática, é denominada síndrome de Tolosa-Hunt.
Objetivo
O objetivo deste estudo é relatar o caso de um paciente diagnosticado com síndrome de Tolosa-Hunt.
Comentário
A síndrome de Tolosa-Hunt manifesta-se clinicamente com cefaleia, dor ocular intensa acompanhada de oftalmoplegia e paralisia do nervo oculomotor. O diagnóstico é feito por meio de uma combinação de avaliação clínica, análises laboratoriais, exames de imagem e exclusão de outras etiologias potenciais. Este relato de caso discute a investigação e o manejo clínico de um paciente previamente saudável que apresentou oftalmoplegia dolorosa, diagnosticado com síndrome de Tolosa-Hunt e tratado com corticosteroides, apresentando resposta favorável ao tratamento.
