Relationship between functionality and level of physical activity of women with fibromyalgia and migraine

Objective: Evaluate the relationship between functionality and level of physical activity in women with fibromyalgia and migraine. Methods: An observational study was conducted with 22 women diagnosed with fibromyalgia and migraine. To evaluate the functionality, we used the function domain of the fibromyalgia impact questionnaire - revised version (FIQR). For the classification of the level of physical activity were used the short version of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) and the classification of the Brazilian Society of Cardiology (SBC) based on oxygen consumption (VO2 max), by ergospirometry. Migraine Disability Assessment Test - MIDAS was used to assess the degree of disability of headache. Results: Participants were women with a mean age of 46 ± 7 years, whose first episode of headache occurred since childhood age to the young-adult stage. Women classified as active (n = 4), physically active (n = 14) and sedentary (n = 4) by IPAQ, all were considered sedentary by SBC (n = 22). No difference between the level of function and level of physical activity among patients in this study, which can be explained by the small sample size was observed. Conclusion: This study was not able to see the difference between physical activity level and functionality.ent
